Dean Weaver ‘82 has been married to his wife Beth for 35 years, and they live in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The Weavers have seven children: Hannah ‘12 (34), who is married to John ‘13; Jacob (32); Rachel (30), who is married to Evan ‘16; Tommy (29); Isaac (29); Sarah (26); and Isatu (25). Three of the Weaver’s children are natural born; three are adopted internationally (Sierra Leone, West Africa; St. Vincent and the Grenadines, West Indies) and one domestic. The Weavers have five grandchildren.

Dr. Weaver is the Stated Clerk/President of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church having been elected at the denominations 40th General Assembly. Dean began his work with the EPC in January of 2021.

Prior to being called to become the EPC’s Stated Clerk, Pastor Weaver served as the Lead Pastor of Memorial Park, an Evangelical Presbyterian Church in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for 15 years. Dr. Weaver also served as Interim Dean of the Chapel/Chaplain at Grove City College, Grove City PA.  

Pastor Weaver was the Moderator of the EPC’s 37th General Assembly (2017) past Chair of the National Leadership Team, and the C0-Chair’ the EPC’s “Revelation 7:9 Task Force”. He has previously served as the Moderator and Ministerial Committee Chair of the EPC’s Presbytery of the Alleghenies. Dr. Weaver was one of the founders and former Co-Moderator of the New Wineskins Association of Churches and served as the Co-Chair of the New Wineskins/EPC Joint Commission.   

Dr. Weaver is also one of the founders and former President of EduNations, a 501©3 not-for-profit organization that builds and operates schools in Sierra Leone, Africa. To date, EduNations has built and operates 16 schools, educating over 3,000 children in one of the most under-resourced countries in the world. He has also been instrumental in the founding of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Sierra Leone (EPC-SL), which now has six congregations and 18 preaching stations in the rural, northern, Muslim majority region of the country. Dr. Weaver serves on the Board of Trustees for Grove City College, the Board of World Reformed Fellowship and the National Association of Evangelicals.

 Dr. Weaver is a 1986 graduate of Grove City College (Bachelor of Arts, History and Religion); Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity); and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (Master of Theology, Preaching and a Doctor of Ministry, Preaching).
